What is NC Pre-K?
Moore County Schools offers NC Pre-K, a free preschool program for children whose families meet eligibility requirements. We are now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. Who is eligible to apply?
Your child must be 4 years old by August 31, 2023, be a Moore County resident and meet one or more of the following: low income; chronic health condition; limited English proficiency; a current IEP; parent is active duty military; no prior preschool experience.

The deadline for completed application submission is April 1, 2023. Parents will be notified of student selection by May 15, 2023.
You will need to submit copies of the following documents with your application:
- child's birth certificate and Social Security or Medicaid card
- parent's photo ID
- verification of parents' income (2022 tax records or a month of pay stubs)
- proof of Moore County residency (driver's license, utility bill or rental agreement)
- if applicable, documentation of chronic health conditions, military service, or IEP
