What is NC Pre-K?
Moore County Schools offers NC Pre-K, a free preschool program for children whose families meet eligibility requirements. We are now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year. For more information, contact Judy Heffner at Moore County Schools at (910) 947-2342 or jheffner@ncmcs.org.

Who is eligible to apply?
Your child must be 4 years old by August 31, 2021, be a Moore County resident and meet one or more of the following: low income; chronic health condition; limited English proficiency; a current IEP; parent is active duty military; no prior preschool experience.
How do I apply?
You can:
mail in your completed application and back-up documents. Click here to download the application packet and detailed instructions.

Attend a Drive-Thru Application Event at Partners for Children & Families office.
You will need to submit copies of the following documents with your application:
- child's birth certificate and Social Security or Medicaid card
- parent's photo ID
- verification of parents' income (2020 tax records or a month of pay stubs)
- proof of Moore County residency (driver's license, utility bill or rental agreement)
- if applicable, documentation of chronic health conditions, military service, or IEP
Drive-Thru Application Events
To complete your application, drive in to Partners for Children & Families between 9 am and 4 pm on the following days:
- Thursday, March 4
- Saturday, March 6
- Wednesday, March 10
- Friday, March 12
- Monday, March 15
- Saturday, March 20
We are located at:
7720 NC Hwy 22 in Carthage, NC (approximately halfway between the Moore County Airport and the Whispering Pines Food Lion)
Please bring with you:
