The following is an excerpt from a February 19, 2021 memo from the County of Moore Health Department. Please click here to download.
On February 10, Governor Cooper announced that all childcare, and public and private PreK-12 school employees would be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine beginning Wednesday, February 24.
The Moore County Health Department is working with FirstHealth on a detailed plan to begin vaccinating this population beginning on March 3 or shortly thereafter. As part of that preliminary planning, FirstHealth has agreed to coordinate vaccinations for all Moore County Public Schools staff of the O'Neal School. The Moore County Health Department has agreed to coordinate vaccinations for the remaining private schools, charter schools, childcare facilities, family childcare homes, and any pre-school/head-start/early head start programs not affiliated with Moore County Public Schools.
Beginning on February 24 at 8:30 a.m., the Health Department will pre-register those eligible individuals for vaccine clinics through an online portal or over the phone. At that time, all staff of any private school (except O'Neal), charter school, childcare facility, or pre-school/head-start may pre-register by visiting www.moorecountync.gov/shot or call (910) 947-SHOT (7468). The online portal and phone line will go live at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24th. The phone line will be open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Once pre-registered, individuals will be contacted by Health Department staff to schedule a vaccine appointment. Appointments are required to receive the vaccine and walk-ins will not be accepted.
More information about how to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will be available the middle of next week. If you have any questions, please direct them to email@example.com.
