Growing Moore Readers Leadership Team
The Leadership Team convenes monthly to communicate the progress of subcommittees and determine collaboration tactics for optimum implementation of the Growing Moore Readers vision. The Leadership Team is also responsible for gathering, analyzing and inputting all data into the Scorecard.
The following goals are the responsibilities of the Leadership Team.
Goal 1: All children will read at or above grade-level by the end of third grade.
Goal 7: Early literacy efforts in Moore County will be collaborative, effective, and sustainable.
School Readiness Subcommittee
The School Readiness Subcommittee focuses on increasing the percentage of kindergartners who are accessed as proficient or above on the beginning of year literacy assessment. Implementation of many literacy programs such as Raising A Reader, Reach Out and Read, Encouraging Early Literacy, and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library are a few tactics of this subcommittee. They are also expanding the Laundromat Projects to all local laundromats.
The following goal is the responsibility of the School Readiness Subcommittee
Goal 2: All children will enter kindgarten ready to succeed.

Summer Learning Subcommittee
The Summer Learning Subcommittee focuses on decreasing the percentage of students in kindergarten through third grade who demonstrate summer learning loss. Through efforts such as the Reading Feeding Frenzy, library summer reading programs, collaborative work with the Boys & Girls Clubs in Aberdeen and Southern Pines, awareness of summer learning events, and a multitude of social media posts, this subcomittee builds the awareness of the importance of summer learning and the effects of the "summer slide" on students.
The following goal is the responsibility of the Summer Learning Subcommittee.
Goal 3: All children will experience a learning-filled summer.

School Attendance Subcommittee
The School Attendance Subcommittee focuses on decreasing the percentage of students kindergarten through third grade who miss more than 10 days of school.
The following goal is the responsiblity of the School Attendance Subcommittee.
Goal 4: All children will attend school regularly.
Family Engagement Subcommittee
The Family Engagement Subcommittee focuses on increasing the percentage of parents reading daily with their children.
The following goal is the responsibility of the Family Engagement Subcommittee
Goal 5: All families will engage in high-impact strategies at home to support children's literacy and learning.
Community Engagement Subcommittee
The Community Engagement Subcommittee focuses on increasing the number of organizations represented at Growing Moore Readers meetings.
The following goal is the responsibility of the Community Engagement Subcommittee.
Goal 6: All community members will understand and promote the importance of early literacy development and grade-level reading proficiency.
